History and strong points
The 190SL is instantly recognizable as a Mercedes, with spectacular curves and through a still understated use of brilliant workmanship that defined this era of Mercedes. Many styling cues are also borrowed from the 300SL "Gullwing", in particular the massive three-pointed star in the grille, bumpers as well as 'eyebrows' on the wheels will all be finished with chrome. Impeccable quality and attractive styling have made the 190SL a huge successful sale of 25,881 units before production ended in 1963. Good number of these models were delivered to the United States
